Growing Food As A Balm For Climate Stress
You Are Here Because You Believe Birth Is About Making Mums Too.
Expert Interview with Zoe Blakeney
As a Newborn Mother, you are being invited to reinvent yourself because when a baby is born so is a mother, and the birth of a mother can be more intense than childbirth. You'll learn how to find peace and joy in the first 40 days after birth and how your postpartum experience can change your life.
Zoe has always been an advocate for ‘nature’s way’ – with 12 years working in the area of climate change and environmental policy and a personal passion for living a simple and slow lifestyle. My passion began almost 10 years ago after completing studies in permaculture, a holistic and ecological approach to living that gives practical techniques to actually do it, starting with growing food. At the same time, I was practising yoga for my health and well-being and took a keen interested in Ayurvedic medicine (an ancient healing system from India that emphasises well-being through herbs, food and lifestyle).
I began to notice the effect permaculture, yoga and Ayurveda were having in my life and got increasingly passionate about motherhood's connection to nature. The passion translated into my long-held dream of running a market garden, and with a close friend, we have birthed “Prana Harvest” - a small scale market garden now in its infancy with the aim to provide organically grown produce to our local community.
It wasn’t until the birth of my third child (who we called Bella) that I finally figured out how to bring all of this experience together to serve mothers. So with that Bella Mama was born.
Bella Mama’s sole mission is to support pregnant women and Newborn Mothers trust their natural instincts to birth and mother with confidence and joy. I do this practically by providing Hypnobirthing Childbirth Education and postpartum doula support specialising in Yoga and Ayurvedic care with an offering of organic fruit and veggie boxes direct from our farm, “Prana Harvest”.
My care to mothers is deeply connected to my passion for living a simple and slower lifestyle - I hope my work inspires mothers to reconnect with who they are, what they want out of life and the kind of future they wish to create for their children.
